In November 2024, America faced a choice: Republican or Democrat, Trump or Harris?

America, a country with a deep divide, is the subject of the photographic survey

“I’m an American”. While travelling the United States in 2024 I explored the hopes and 

wishes of Americans in numerous interviews. The photographic portraits capture 

the collective and individual humanity of these Americans despite the heightened situation 

and conflicting viewpoints. In this survey, which is presented as an oversized photo book, 

both sides have their say and… at least symbolically… engage in conversation.
